THE BUYER’S ANSWER CENTER

Website and design project FAQs.
A clearer starting point.

You do not need to know the technical terms to start a useful project conversation. These project questions explain what to prepare, what to confirm in writing, and how to keep expectations clear.

Clear scope protects the working relationship. Use these answers as a conversation starter, then confirm the details for your own project in writing.

What does a website package actually include?

Start with the package’s page allowance and feature list, then make the written scope specific to your business. Confirm which pages are included, who provides copy and images, what integrations are required, how many revision rounds are included, and what final delivery means. A page allowance does not automatically include an online store, custom application, or unlimited content work.

Who owns the website, domain, and design files?

Ownership and access should be explicit in the project agreement. Confirm the domain registrant, hosting account, website access, supplied materials, final design files, and the treatment of third-party licensed assets. Ask which files you will receive and which ongoing subscriptions remain necessary. We agree on those responsibilities before work begins rather than leaving them to the handoff.

What happens after launch?

A website may need content changes, checks, and support as your business develops. Our Basic Website Care is $39 per month and Business Website Care is $69 per month, with the defined update allowances shown in the plans. SEO is a separate service with its own work allowance. Confirm who handles later changes, provider issues, renewals, and additional work. A completed build does not mean unlimited ongoing support.

What should I check before approving a print proof?

Read every name, number, price, date, URL, and offer condition. Confirm the dimensions, quantity, front/back orientation, safe area, bleed or unprinted rim, stock, and finishing details against the selected supplier’s specification. Screen previews do not certify printed color or production quality. Approve the final proof only when the required details are correct; later changes can affect cost and timing.

Which costs sit outside the website build price?

Unless specifically included in your written quote, domain registration, hosting, paid apps, external platforms, payment processing, and POS hardware or software are separate. Printing and shipping also need their own confirmation when physical products are involved. Ask about tax, renewals, provider subscriptions, licensed assets, and work outside the agreed scope so you can plan the full operating cost.

Understand custom-build scope
What should I prepare, and how long will the project take?

Bring your goal, service list, approved contact details, logo, suitable photos, existing website, and any examples that explain the direction. Identify who can approve the work and when your content will be ready. Timing depends on the scope, content, access, feedback, supplier availability, and required testing. We confirm milestones for the actual project; a requested date is not a guaranteed launch or delivery date.

Start with your project details
Do I need a standard website or a custom application?

A standard business website usually introduces services, shows useful information, and helps customers contact you. A custom application may also manage records, permissions, workflows, calculations, or connections between systems. Describe the task and who needs to perform it. We can then discuss the smallest useful first release, feasibility, data access, testing, operating costs, and support before agreeing on a custom-build scope.

HOW THE WORK MOVES FORWARD

Clear scope. Shared milestones.

We agree on the work, responsibilities and payment arrangements before delivery. Your project then moves through the relevant design, build or print-proof reviews and an agreed handoff.
